Argentina: A large world supermarket

Gastronomy
The Argentine cuisine may be referred to as a cultural blending between the indigenous Mediterranean influences (such as the one exerted by Italian-Spanish and Arabic polulations).

Argentina has been historically acknowledged as a large farming goods producing and exporting country. Foreign trade policies seek to implement programs aiming at creating and consolidating both the farming sector industrialization and that of the foodstuff and beverages market. This policy boosts investments, and technology modernization, and brings about an increase in the participation of higher value products in our exports.

Food product exports stand as one of the dynamic backbones of a new growth and production model. In 2010 the domestic agriculture and foodstuff industry are expected to produce goods for an amount of roughly u$s 135.000 million, thus accounting for more than 10% supply of the worldwide consumption.

Argentine Food

The label known as ARGENTINE FOOD: A NATURAL SELECTION, is a National Brand facilitating the identification of Argentine foodstuff and its attributes therefore highlighting a national image displaying its own identity. Furthermore, this label enables foodstuff positioning both at the national and international markets by favouring their placement and commercialization.

Among its main concerns are keeping the authenticity and originality of Argentine foods by encouraging the incorporation of added value attributes, and also promoting the immediate recognition by the consumer of a quality of product that can satisfy a kind of expectation or particular taste that go beyond the standards set by the Argentine Food Code.
