Argentina - An Argentinean reactor for the Netherlands

Invap has already built one of the world´s major reactors for the Australian goverment.

INVAP, the state company of Rio Negro, in association with the Spanish Isolux Corsa, presented its bid to compete in the international competition organized by the Netherlands for the purchase of a research reactor and a plant for production of radioisotopes.

Tenders will be assessed by the Dutch government who will announce the beginning of the second half of the year award for the work before the end of 2009.

The company hopes to repeat the experience argentina 2001 when competing with the world's largest firms was awarded the construction of the reactor OPAL (Open Lighwater Australian) of 20 megawatts of power for Australia.

On this occasion, the delivery is tendered on a turnkey basis of a research reactor Pallas, to be an installed capacity of 80 megawatts, and the provision of a plant radioisotopes.

The reactor that will replace the Dutch government will buy another installed in the village of Petten in the extreme north of the country.

The Spanish group INVAP to accompany this time, an annual turnover of more than 2,500 million euros in engineering, manufacturing and concessions in the Iberian peninsula and in 32 other countries.

For its part INVAP, with over 30 years of experience in nuclear activity, has provided research reactors in the world. The largest development to date has been built to Australia for a total of more than $ 100 million.

Besides the nuclear area, INVAP has an important development in the aerospace industry segment in which built three observation satellites for the National Commission on Space Activities (CONAE) that Argentina put in space in cooperation with NASA (USA) .

Currently working on the development of four other satellites SAC-D Aquarius for a project with NASA, two SAOCOM for a venture with Italy and a communication to the ARSAT argentina.
