R&D Investment Programs

The Venture Capital Investments Development Program targeted at Companies operating in the field of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation aims at promoting venture capital investments in research undertakings carried out by currently existing companies, or fostering the creation of new enterprises to be engaged in the area of science, technology and productive innovation. The goals contemplated in this program are outlined below:

• Boosting the growth of venture capital investments in Argentina
• Promoting the development of practices regarding venture capital undertakings among entrepreneurs, link brokers, and market agents.     
• Developing local knowledge concerning the elements and tools successfully implemented by the venture capital industry at an international level.
• Creating bonds between entrepreneurs and private investors by adopting an investment policy that focuses on “ventures” and technology base companies born in research institutes, universities and other private and public entities set up in technology parks and complexes.
• Encouraging the creation of new companies aiming at leveraging the outcomes resulting from the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion financially supported R&D projects
 
Fontar and Foncyt
By means of its two Funds- the Fund for the Scientific and Technological Research (FONCyT) and the Argentine Technology Fund (FONTAR)-, La Agencia (the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion) encourages the financing of undertakings aiming at improving socio-economic and cultural conditions in Argentina. The financing lines reach out to a wide scope of beneficiaries ranging from basic research devoted researchers to companies concerned about enhancing their competitiveness on the basis of technology innovation.

Fonsoft

The FONSOFT software industry trust fund is aimed at boosting the strengthening of software-related activities nationwide.   
Set up back in 2004 upon the enactment of the Ley de Promoción de la Industria del Software (Software Industry Promotion Act. No. 25.922), its scope comprises such items as:

• Research and Development projects covering the activities included in the promotion scheme (that is, software systems creation, design, development, production, deployment and tune-up) 
• The offer of human resources training programs by community colleges or further studies institutions.
•  The establishment of programs aimed at the enhancement of  software creation, design, development and production processes quality. 
•  The organization of assistance programs to encourage the set-up of new ventures.
