
The higher education training system is regarded as the best in Latin America. It is made up of 103 undergraduate institutions attended by over 1,500,000 students. In fact, 1,285, 000 of these students attend state-run institutions and 250,000 study in private universities.
Extending all over the country ´s regions both universities and institutes feature an academic offer targeted at foreign students and welcome roughly 25,000 young students on an annual basis.
Studying options involve pre-graduate, undergraduate and graduate courses of studies. With respect to pre-graduate courses of studies, they are short-lasting, do not take longer than a four-year term and offer technical degrees. Another interesting invitation to participate is the one promoted by Innovar Contest every 4 years, which is primarily targeted at acknowledging, promoting and rewarding initiatives endowed with originality, willingness of change, and added value for knowledge production, and above all at improving citizens´ quality of life.
As to training centers, even if most of them are found in urban centers, the way they are distributed allows choosing institutions located in peaceful places lying close to tourist attractions or natural areas.
Cities stand as major centers where cultural, sport and economic activities are carried out. Apart from Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, other urban hubs such as Rosario, Mendoza, Córdoba, Resistencia, Bariloche or La Plata, also offer a balanced combination between studying and urban life.
The country´s cultural life is regarded as one of the most promoted and dynamic in the region. Argentina is endowed with a national network holding over 500 museums. Actually, Buenos Aires holds one of the world ´s most diversified standalone or “off” theater options. The local film production records an upwards trend year after year and it currently stands as one of the most interesting and original industries at a worldwide level. Therefore, this phenomenon results in films taking part at renowned Film Celebrations such as the Cannes, Berlin or San Sebastián Film Festivals and being awarded prizes. With respect to the film industry related courses of studies, they are becoming increasingly better positioned as interesting options for foreign students to bear in mind. As regards the TV industry, the sale of programs, ideas, formats and scripts to foreign markets is revitalizing this worldwide business. Concerning Argentine designs involving the graphic, industrial, multimedia, clothing or decoration industries, they have acquired a sustainably growing major role. With respect to the publishing industry, it is, in fact, endowed with an undeniable tradition, which has therefore turned Argentina into one of the world´s major Spanish-speaking markets. In a nutshell, local cultures´ current development has reached an extent of recognition that accurately blends creativity, management and professionalization.
