After intensive stages run on Argentine soil, where the drivers had to demonstrate their skills in various areas and roads, the Dakar Rally is now in Chile. For the first and only time in the competition, riders have a rest day in the city of Valparaiso. This free time also allows the teams to plan their next steps.
Besides the fact of being able to watch the continuing struggle for first place between the Spanish Marc Coma, the American Jonah Street and Frenchman David Fretigne in the bike category, and between the Spanish Carlos Sainz and South African Giniel De Villiers in cars, the Chilean paths will allow the action of the Argentinean Marcos Patronelli and his quadricycle, who has won the seventh stage of the rally. Once the Chileans sections are ready, the Dakar Rally will return to Argentina, where the last four stages of the competition will take place.
