The Dakar says goodbye to Chile

The tenth stage of the competition marks the end of the Chilean section. After passing through the dunes of Copiapó, drivers will be prepared to return to Argentina, where will be the decisive stages of the race.


After touring the north of Chile, the Dakar Rally returns to Argentina. 

With the development of the tenth stage, which starts and ends in the town of Copiapó, the Dakar Rally says goodbye to he trans-Andean country. Today, the 329 teams left in the competition will travel a total of 686 kilometers, 476 of which will be timed, being one of the longest of the special race.

At this stage, the competitors conducted through the Atacama desert, where the daytime temperature is very high. Besides the heat, runners must challenge the dunes of Copiapó, one of the most difficult of all the competition. Those who may quickly overcome these real mountains of sand, will be located between the top of the stage.

Once the pilots reach Copiapó, teams will be prepared to face the last and decisive stages of the race, which will start tomorrow again  in Argentina. So far, the Argentine Patronelli Marcos remains in second place overall in the quadricycles category, while the mendocino Orly Terranova stays with his car in the eighth position.
