Argentina - The Dakar is fired in Buenos Aires

Of the 500 teams that started the competition, only 268 managed to complete its 14 stages. 

The Dakar Rally Argentina - Chile 2009 live their day of closure. After two weeks of intense competition, where teams from around the world toured ten different argentina provinces and cities of Chile, the Dakar is fired in Buenos Aires. The 268 who completed the 14 stages of the race, a total of 500 that started, parading through the streets of the city to the campus of La Rural, where the awards ceremony. Mounted on a podium place was awarded to the first three competitors in each category: cars, motorcycles, quads and trucks.

Among the pilots will find the winning Argentine Patronelli Marcos, who in a stunning performance, finished in second place in category four, the Czech Josef Machacek kept the first place. The three stages won by Patronelli confirm his remarkable performance in the Dakar Rally. Winners of the 2009 edition of the race in the world are more demanding: the aforementioned Machacek in category four, Spanish Marc Coma on motorcycles, the South African Giniel De Villiers in cars and trucks in Russia Firdaus Kabirov.
