Although tennis is a very single sport, the argentine tennis players demonstrated the importance of being together. The media of the world nicknamed our players “The Argentine Legion”.
This Legion has inherited the spirit and the passion that the greatest tennis players have transmitted, such as Guillermo Vilas, José Luis Clerc and Gabriela Sabatini. This new generation has achieved important records and achievements. In 2004, the legion achieved the greatest milestone of the National Tennis: two argentine players competed for the Roland Garros title.
The Argentine Legion is still on everybody’s lips and they are always talking into account and favorites in every tournament, not only for their way of playing but also for the fans that follow them in every competition.
In 2006 Davis Cup, the legion went thought to the final and the fans, headed by Diego Armando Maradona, packed the stadium of the cold Russia. Nowadays, the argentine team is training to play in November another Davis Cup final, this time against Spain and as local player.
