The Argentine North

The North is one of the models of the national tourism. As time goes by, the effort to preserve the tradition and at the same time develop services of international level make the region a destiny that is visited by several foreigners.

To the rhythm of the verse

The North is an invitation to the adventure. Valleys and quebradas and forests draw a map of challenges to discover.


Far from the snow of Bariloche, Las Leñas, or from the magnificent Cataratas del Iguazú that never keeps quiet, during the last years the Argentine North multiplied the numbers of visitors. Jujuy, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Catamarca and Tucumán are the options.

The North is an invitation to the adventure. Valleys and quebradas and forests draw a map of challenges to discover. From the practice of non- conventional sports to the contact with nature in a place of respect and conservation. Due to the wide variety of natural environment that the region has (mountain ranges, valleys, quebradas, volcanoes, thermal waters, caves, rivers, lagoons) it has became one of the moss important destinies for the practice of alternative or active tourism in Argentina.

Inside the diversity of categories that are practiced we can mention: trekking, horse ridding, quads, bungy jumping, puenting, tyrolean, 4x4 crosses, bird watching, rappel, camping, hiking, high mountain, sport fishing, paragliding, rafting, potholing. 

Allover the region there is a very important offer of farms and country houses where the doors are open to accommodate all the tourists. The stay in the farms can be relax of active depending on your decision. When a new day begins, with the perfume and taste of bread and sweets, you will have all the energies to discover a new world. In the morning, you can also do rural activities and during the afternoon you can share mates while you listen to the guitar of gaucho from Salta, Santiago del Estero, Catamarca, Tucumán and Jujuy. This is the way in which some traditional families open the doors of their houses to receive tourist and offer an unforgettable stay.

Every Saturday the town of Simoca, located 50 kilometers to the south of the capital of Tucumán, open the doors to the tourists and invite them to discover the exciting travel to the past, where the sulkys invade the streets of the town more frequently than the 0 km cars
The city of Salta was founded in 1582. It still has an important Hispanic physiognomy that distinguished form the rest of the Argentine Cities. Its urban profile is formed by colonial style houses, streets and narrow pavements and the green-brown landscapes of the surrounding hills, belonging to the Precordillera de los Andes
The way of life of the people that live in Quebrada de Humahuaca can be divided before the construction of the path to Jama, Chile, and after
Santiago del Estero is the oldest city funded by the Spanish colonizers and is called "Mother of Cities". Its history is captured by myths and legends that made the province on of the strongest centers o cultural and religious tourism of the country
Catamarca offers an intensive life, betwen adventure, history and nature. Ecoturism, rural tourism and archaeology live together in the north of Argentina
